About Ray Rubio, D.A.O.M., L.Ac., FABORMDr. Ray Rubio, D.A.O.M., L.Ac., FABORM is a licensed acupuncturist who has been specializing in the treatment of infertility using acupuncture and other chinese medicine protocols for over a decade. He is a professor at Emperor's College of Oriental Medicine in Los Angeles where he instructs Interns and Doctoral students in the diagnosis and treatment of infertility, and other reproductive disorders. Dr. Rubio is the president of the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine (ABORM), a non-profit national organization devoted to establishing minimum standards for acupuncturists who work with infertile patients. Dr. Rubio is a member in good standing with the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), the Pacific Coast Reproductive Society (PCRS), and a professional member of Resolve, and the American Fertility Association. Dr. Rubio has lectured nationally and internationally on the subject of Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture and Infertility, and he has published papers on the topic in peer-reviewed journals. He works closely with many Reproductive Endocrinologists in the Los Angeles area, and he is involved in research related to Chinese Herbal Medicine and Diminished Ovarian Reserve. Dr. Rubio received his Doctorate (D.A.O.M.) in advanced Chinese Medicine from Emperor's College in Los Angeles where he is also on faculty. This distinction is important for patients deciding in whom to entrust their infertility support with. The field of Chinese Medicine in the United States only recently (3 years now) began offering Doctoral level education in Chinese Medicine, and Dr. Rubio was in the first graduating class from Emperor's College. The majority of acupuncturists have only a Master's degree as the entry-level for practice. The D.A.O.M. is the only clinical doctorate offered in Chinese Medicine in the United States, and patients should not be mislead by credentials such as O.M.D., or D.O.M., - neither of which are accredited doctoral degrees. Dr. Rubio feels that this knowledge is very important for infertile patients due to the emotional, psychological, and financial stress that come with the journey to conception. He feels that patients, and their Reproductive Endocrinologists, should be able to trust that they are working with someone who has experience, advanced training, and clinical success. |
